Vin Quilop is a young and budding urban sketcher, who mostly paints en plein air. His practice attempts to explore the concept of space through his preferred medium at present—that is, watercolor.
He often finds inspiration in his travels—immersing himself in new places amid the locals and their cultures. He also takes cues from the French impressionists and anime, particularly the films by Studio Ghibli and Makoto Shinkai.
Before occupying himself with questions on space, Vin primarily paints portraitures, both for personal and commercial purposes, using various media, such as acrylic and digital. At times, he has been commissioned to work on figure-based illustrations by several print and web publications. Before deciding to pursue his art full-time, he was an Art Director for a multi-national advertising agency.
