About the Artist

Edrick Daniel (b. 1983) started his career alongside high school friends, who would together form the art group, Sangviaje. Edrick received his first informal training from Antipolo artists such as Jerson Samson, who would frequent Dr. Joven Cuanang’s home, better known today as The Pinto Art Museum.

Daniel later received formal training from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts. Musings about his relationships drove his first works, then, later, musings about himself and how people interpret and interact with their egos. He primarily works with acrylic paints on canvas and layered resin. The artist focuses heavily on visual narratives, symbolism, and metaphors to interpret and convey his realizations about life in general—an “autobiography in riddles,” so to speak. He’s had numerous exhibitions with various galleries in the country and abroad, including Malaysia and Singapore.

P.S. He’s also a bicycle nerd.
