Born in the Philippines, Shannah Orencio is a visual artist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication from the University of the Philippines’ College of Fine Arts.
Inspired by the ephemeral quality of nature, Shannah’s paintings are calm and meditative, emphasizing the dynamism of details seen up close. Orencio uses dried flowers, leaves, and other found objects in gardens piled in boxes, forming intricate patterns and a layered sense of depth. While the subjects are dead, their beauty and life are suspended in timelessness [Neocha, 2020].
