Description

“When my audiologist read some vocabulary words, all of the words that she spoke were gray to me. Whatever word she said, it was all in some kind of gray canvas and all my words were simply dark scribbles across and around it. All I heard was my voice, quite monotonous, and unfeeling — that is why I only saw gray and sad colors.”

This print comes signed and numbered by the artist, with a signed Certificate of Authenticity (CoA).

About the Artist

Prado (b. 1995) is a visual artist from Manila who narrates her aesthetic journey in a series of paintings derived from her experiences with her hearing disability. Prado incorporates various personal audio recordings as part of the artworks themselves, creating a synesthetic experience for her audience. Her paintings are accompanied by various curated sound snippets that are similarly bold and emotional with heavily expressionistic visuals, giving a preview of her growing artistic narratives.
