Mara Fabella is a visual artist based in Paranaque City, Philippines. She works in collage, gathering her images from different sources, including magazines, newspapers, and old works. Mara approaches collage as a way to recontextualize the image, either tearing or carefully cutting her visuals to reassemble them into new compositions. Also a writer by trade, she views collage as a form of visual storytelling, regarding her works, whether abstract or figurative in nature, as each telling their own unique narratives.
Mara completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting in 2019 from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She has exhibited her works at Art in the Park, Sining Kamalig, Block17 Art Space, Project 20, and Start 101 Gallery. As an art writer, she has contributed to Art Plus Magazine, Mantle Magazine, and Cartellino Digest.
